On one level Interplay is a physical scroll celebrating the last 10 years of Find Enlights community building, with proceeds going towards free spaces at future community gatherings and offerings. So in effect everyone who purchases an interplay scroll, supports Find Enlights community building efforts on a wider scale.
On another level Interplay is a multi sensory practice that has roots in 2017 with a project called: levels of consciousness. However the full realisation of interplay began in 2023 as a way to bridge the gap between disciplines and timelines of past, present & future projects.

The Launch Event
To celebrate the launch of interplay, on Sat 27th July 2024 from 3-9pm we shared musical sound baths, writing practices, collective drawing along with movement & breath-work exercises.

✺ Interplay Bridging Fields & Senses
Interplay emerged from a daily practice of drawing to sense, ideate and problem solve. The process of free flow drawing became a way to go beyond the cognitive process of writing and move more towards an embodied cognitive approach of the 4E's (Embodied, Embedded, Enacted, Extended). The theory states "intelligent behaviour emerges from the interplay between brain, body and world"
A big part of the interplay development was inviting nine people from different walks of life, into a multi sensorial conversation and a times collaborations. The inital conversations took place between April and July of 2024 with Hannah, Flo, Andre, Scarlett, Karimah, Amberjoy, Judah, JJ, and Joachim. These conversations started with an invitation to respond to the 9 symbols of Interplay journey and then evolved into ways these observations could become movement, breath work, a deck of cards and so on.

The Interplay Scroll acts as a totem for find enlight community of supporters, celebrating a decade of work, while engaging with a wider audience. The price point of the scroll is also a way to allow people from far afield to support the projects ethos and future community gatherings both financially and symbolically.
✺ Interplay learnings & experimentation (thinking out loud)
Noticing and embracing the complex interplay of fields when bringing a physical artefact into the world is been a big and welcomed learning curve. From design to sourcing the right printers and scheduling collaborations and so on, the challenge wasn't simply discipline but cultivating strategic foresight and being adaptable enough in light of changes.

Wider Practicalities : To be reflected on...
Price Point : The price of the scroll is not simply for the scroll but is intended to reflect and cover the (sometimes invisible) costs of community building, both past work and creating the possibility of future community building. The idea is that with the revenue from the scroll can support work that would otherwise be ignored. Also ensuring the community work can remain at an intimate scale and offer free spaces for those that cant afford to pay.
Some extra notes: Although the description of interplay may come across as straightforward, there is a lot of winding roads along the journey, some disappointments and some positive serendipities. Observing and learning to navigate all of these unpredictable experiences have also been a big part of the interplay practice.
